Pro Tips for Parents of Wigglers:

  • Try sitting in different locations to see how your children best engage with the service. Don't be afraid to sit near the front! Kids often focus better when they are closer to the action.
  • If your child is in the service for the Sermon, this will be the longest stretch for them to sit. You might hold back on giving them a craft item or toy until the sermon begins.
  • Children learn in lots of different ways. Don't be discouraged if your child seems more interested in coloring than listening - they take in more than we realize!
  • There are no screens our Sanctuary. You can help your child follow along with the hymns in the hymnal. Use your finger to point out the words so emerging readers can follow along.
  • Nursing mothers: you are very welcome to relax with your baby in our Nursery; a Greeter or Usher can direct you.
  • If you need to step out of Sanctuary worship with a child, you can watch the service on the Atrium monitor.
  • If your child needs to use the restroom during worship, please accompany them to the restroom. Older kids are quite capable of making it to the restroom and back on their own; however, our Ministry Safe protocol is for children to be supervised at all times.
